
Scott L. Baranoff, MD, FACS, Diplomate American Board of Urology
Dr. Baranoff received his Bachelor of Arts degree in natural
science at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore
Maryland, from which he graduated with honors.
He received his Doctor of Medicine from Loyola
University of Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine
in Illinois, where he was inducted into the Alpha
Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and graduated
with academic honors. He completed his surgical
internship at Saint Joseph Hospital in Houston
Texas, and his urologic residency at the University
of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He was
certified by the American Board of Urology in 1987,
recertified in 1996, and again in 2006. He became a
Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 1988.
Dr. Baranoff is Assistant Clinical Professor
of Surgery (Urology) at the University of Nevada
School of Medicine. Previously he was Chief
of Surgery and Urology at Desert Springs
Hospital and is past president of the Las Vegas
Urological Society.
Dr. Baranoff's special interests include nonsurgical treatment
for; incontinence, impotence treatment, urological
cancer prevention & treatment and treatment of
kidney stones. Dr. Baranoff maintains memberships
in both regional and national medical societies
including the American Urological Association,
American Association of Clinical Urologists,
Clark County Medical Society, Nevada State
Medical Association and Las Vegas Southwest
Rotary.

Joseph V. Candela, MD, MPH, Diplomate American Board of Urology
Dr. Candela is originally from Chicago. He attended the
University of Notre Dame, from where he received a Bachelor
of Science with a concentration in Latin American studies,
graduating with honors. He graduated from Tulane University
School of Medicine and concurrently completed a Masters Degree
in Public Health with an emphasis on Nutrition. He completed
his urologic residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center
in Los Angeles. He enjoys a broad practice in all aspects
of urologic disease with a focus on female urology and oncology
Dr. Candela has lived in the Las Vegas area for over ten years
with his wife and four children. He has a wide variety of personal
interests which include swimming with the Las Vegas Masters Swim Club,
playing tennis, and participating in triathlons.
Dr. Candela is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and holds a Masters of Public Health.

Vijay Goli, MD, FACS, Diplomate American Board of Urology
Dr. Goli was born in India and raised in Hazard, Kentucky.
He attended Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky,
graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his
Doctor of Medicine at the University of Louisville. He has
special interests in minimally invasive procedures such as
laparoscopy, stone disease, prostate disease, and urological
malignancies, as well as all other aspects of Urology. He is
Associate Clinical Professor of UNLV School of Medicine and Surgery.
He has served as Secretary and Treasurer of Spring Valley Hospital
for over five years, is Chief of Urology at Summerlin Hospital
and is the on the Physicians Advisory Board for many healthcare companies.
Dr. Goli has lived in Las Vegas since the summer of 2000, with his
wife, dog and cat. He enjoys running and racing cars in his spare time.
Dr. Goli is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Grigoriev is originally from St. Petersburg, Russia.
He is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis
and University of Missouri School of Medicine. He completed
a Urology Residency at Brown University in Providence,
Rhode Island, and a fellowship in Female Urology and
Reconstructive Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
He enjoys a broad urologic practice. For the last 12 years
he has specialized in Urogynecology in the Las Vegas area.
He has led the way in the usage of prolapse repair systems,
always remaining on the cutting edge of the newest
advancements in female urology.
Dr. Grigoriev is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Eliot M. Horowitz, MD, Diplomate American Board of Urology
Dr. Horowitz received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Biomedical Science and his Doctor of Medicine from
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He served
his surgical internship at the University of California
San Diego Medical Center (UCSD) and his surgical
residency at the Swedish Hospital in Seattle,
Washington. He then returned to UCSD to serve his
urological residency where in 1986 he concluded as
Chief Resident. He was first certified by the American
Board of Urology in 1988 and recertified in
1997. He became a Fellow of the American College
of Surgeons in 1996.
Dr. Horowitz has been published in professional medical
journals, presented numerous papers to professional
assemblies, and conducted clinical research. He has
been a former American Cancer Society honoree and
was a recent honoree of Odyssey Healthcare Inc. "for
improving the quality of life". He is frequently called
upon to deliver lectures to the medical community
throughout the southwestern United States. He has been past
Chief of Urology at Desert Springs Hospital and past
President of the Las Vegas Urological Society.
Dr. Horowitz maintains memberships in
regional and national medical societies including
the American Urological Association, American
Medical Association, American Association
of Clinical Urologists, Clark County Medical
Society, Nevada State Medical Association, and
Academy of Hospice Physicians.
Dr. Horowitz is married and has two children. Dr.
and Mrs. Horowitz have founded both a synagogue
and hospice in the Las Vegas area.
Michael S. Kaplan, MD, Diplomate American Board of Urology

Dr. Michael Kaplan is a Board Certified Urologist with
a subspecialty in Urological Oncology. Dr. Kaplan
completed his Fellowship in Urologic Oncology at St.
Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He
graduated magna cum laude from University of California
Los Angeles (UCLA), and obtained a degree from Baylor
College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Kaplan completed
his internship and residency at Letterman Army Medical
Center Presidio of San Francisco, California.
Dr. Kaplan treats adult and pediatric urology patients.
As a specialist in urologic oncology he is a supporter
of prostate cancer screenings and is the founder of the
Local Chapter of “US TOO”, a prostate cancer
support group. His area of expertise also includes
treatments for male impotence, urinary incontinence and testicular biopsies.
Steven B. Kurtz, MD, Diplomate American Board of Urology
Dr. Kurtz was born in New York City. He grew up in
Los Angeles, California, and graduated magna cum
laude from the University of California, Berkeley.
He received his Doctor of Medicine at University
of California San Diego (UCSD) and completed his
urology training and residency at the Kaiser
Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Dr. Kurtz has lived in Las Vegas since 1996.
He enjoys scuba diving, reading, and is an
avid private pilot. Dr. Kurtz is a Diplomate
of the American Board of Urology.

R. David Larsen, MD, FACS, Diplomate American Board of Urology
Dr. Larsen received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology,
graduating magna cum laude. He received his Doctor of
Medicine from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
He served his surgical and urological residencies at the
University of Utah finishing as Chief Resident. He
was certified by the American Board of Urology
in 1987 and recertified in 1997.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons,
Dr. Larsen also maintains membership in
national and regional medical societies including
the American Urological Association, American
Association of Clinical Urologists, American
Lithotripsy Society, Nevada State Medical
Association, Clark County Medical Society and
Las Vegas Urological Society. He has served
as President of Utah Urological Society,
Las Vegas Urological Society and as Chairman of the
Urology Division in Holy Cross Hospital in
Salt Lake City, Utah and Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.
Dr. Larsen has been published in medical journals,
conducted clinical research, made numerous
presentations to professional organizations, and
has served on the clinical faculty of University
of Utah School of Medicine in the Departments of
Surgery and Family Medicine.
Dr. Larsen's special interests include pediatric
urology, urologic oncology, minimally invasive
treatments for prostatic enlargement, stone
disease and incontinence. He is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Lesani received his Bachelor of Science Degree
in Biochemistry from University of North Texas in
1996. He attended University of Texas Health
Science Center and obtained his Doctor of Medicine
in 2000. His surgical internship and urology
residency were completed at Case Western Reserve
School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Early in
his residency training he developed an interest
in minimally invasive treatment of urologic disease.
To further pursue this interest, Dr. Lesani completed
a fellowship at Northwestern University School of Medicine
in Chicago, Illinois. During his fellowship he completed
training on laparoscopy and robotic urologic surgery
as well as endoscopic laser treatment of urinary stones
and benign prostate disease. He then joined Las Vegas
Urology in September of 2007.
Dr. Lesani has been published in multiple academic
journals and has authored multiple book chapters
including in Mastery of Surgery. His work has been
presented at national and international urology
conferences. He has served as an instructor of Urology
at Northwestern University and as a Manuscript Reviewer
for the Journal of Urology.
Dr. Lesani practices general urology with an emphasis
on modern minimally invasive treatment approaches,
including laparoscopic surgery for renal cancers,
laparoscopic reconstruction of the urinary tract and
robotic surgery for prostate and renal cancers.
Dr. Lesani is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology.

William B. Steinkohl, MD, FACS, Diplomate of the American Board of Urology
Dr. Steinkohl attended University at Buffalo, S.U.N.Y., where
he received his Bachelor of Arts Degrees in biology as well
as psychology. He then continued his education at Roswell
Park Memorial Institute and later received his Doctor of
Medicine from Albany Medical College. Dr. Steinkohl continued
his training as a resident in urology at Albany Medical Center
Hospital and was Chief Resident during his last year there.
After serving his residency, Dr. Steinkohl worked as a
fellow in urodynamics, female urology, incontinence and
prosthetics at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center.
Dr. Steinkohl is a Diplomate of the American Board
of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

William R. Wise, MD, Diplomate of the American Board of Urology
Dr. Wise earned his Doctor of Medicine at Creighton
University in Nebraska. He completed his internship,
surgical residency and urology residency at the University
of Utah Affiliated Hospitals in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Wise
is a member of the American Medical Association, Clark County
Medical Society, Las Vegas Urologic Society and American
Urological Association Western Section. He is past president
of the Las Vegas Urologic Society and was Chief of Urology at Sunrise Hospital.

Jeffrey M. Zapinsky, MD, FACS, Diplomate of the American Board of Urology
Dr. Zapinsky graduated from a 6-year Bachelor of
Science - Doctor of Medicine program at City University
of New York. He received his Doctor of Medicine from
Stonybrook University, State University of New York at
age 23. Dr. Zapinsky has been practicing adult and
pediatric urology in Las Vegas since 1987. His special
interests include urologic oncology, impotence, noninvasive
treatment of stone disease, incontinence treatment,
and vasectomy reversal.
Dr. Zapinsky is a member of American Board of Urology
since 1989 as well as a Fellow of the American College
of Surgeons. He has been a member of the Clark County
Medical Society, American Society of Clinical Urologists
and American Medical Association.
Dr. Zapinsky grew up in New York City and trained at
Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan for his urology residency.
Dr. Zapinsky has been married to Desiree, a retired medical
surgery Registered Nurse. Together they have raised three children in Las Vegas.

Mark B. Hazuka, MD
Dr. Hazuka earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics
from Creighton University in Omaha, NE and his Medical Degree
from Creighton University School of Medicine.
Dr. Hazuka completed his Internship from the Department
of Internal Medicine and his Radiation Oncology Residency
from Presyterian/Saint Luke's Medical Center in Denver, CO.
Dr. Hazuka treats all disease sites, but has a special interest in prostate cancer and prostate brachytherapy.
He was the first radiation oncologist to bring prostate brachytherapy to southern Colorado in 1998.
Since that time, Dr. Hazuka has performed over 350 prostate brachytherapy procedures.
These include both low dose-rate (LDR) and high dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy treatments.
Dr. Hazuka has published 29 scientific articles regarding the use of
radiation therapy in peer reviewed medical journals and has written 5 book chapters.
Dr. Hazuka was selected by his peers as one of the Best Doctors in America.
He is a member of the American Society of Theraputic Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and Colorado Medical Society.
Dr. Hazuka has three children ages 17 - 24. He enjoys skiing, cycling, hiking, and golf.
